Quantum in the Summer is a week-long series of lectures and labs sessions for students in year 11 and 12. The event is organised by QET Labs at the University of Bristol and partially sponsored by the Quantum Communications Hub. The course focuses on quantum mechanics and its application in technology and will give the students an opportunity to envisage what STEM study looks like in a university environment. We encourage students from all backgrounds but are keen to select students who have an interest in physics and engineering and who are in their first year of sixth form / college. The sessions are aimed at fostering the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity, as they come to grapple with ever more sophisticated questions over the week.

The event organisers endeavour to provide taught and practical components of the course on the University of Bristol campus, however, this is subject to change in line with University and government advice on COVID19 guidance and restrictions. If they are unable to deliver the summer school on campus face-to-face, they will transition to a virtual online summer school.
